A friend of mine (euphonium player, but what the heck, somebody's got to like them) recently inherited a Wurlitzer cornet with a serial number of 3572 and the name 'Lyric' on the bell.
Does anyone know anything about these cornets? I have done the thread search, and also checked out a couple of search engines, but the pickin's are kind of slim!
Thanks!

Many of the Wurlitzer Cornets were made as stencils by Conn for Wurlitzer around the beginning of the 20th century (1900). Conn and Pan American made several models for Wurlitzer. The Wurlitzer Lyric was made by Conn in the late 1800 and early 1900. It was made with a .459 bore. If that serial number is Conn's serial number and not Wurlitzer's then that horn was manufactured in 1879.

Thanks, Gilligan! I didn't think anyone had an answer to my question. I have seen some pictures of the cornet and it is in remakable shape. I know my friend will be happy to get some info about it.
Thanks again,

Check my date change in my last post. I referenced the wrong serial number list the first time.

Wurlitzer Piano Value By Serial Number

Wurlitzer trumpet serial number

Wurlitzer is most known for their production of entry level pianos. During the 1960s, they manufactured Spinet, Console, Studio and Grand Pianos. Over time, Wurlitzer acquired a number of other companies which made a variety of loosely related products, including kitchen appliances, carnival rides.

Wurlitzer Lyric Cornet Serial Numbers List

Besides Rudolph, but there was also E.H. Wurlitzer of Boston, who was an instrument maker that was bought out in 1901 by, and became a partner with Harry Bettony. Bettony took over his former bosss company, which became Cundy-Bettony. The original Wurlitzer Lyric trombones were produced before 1906 and read Made by Rudolph Wurlitzer on the bell. The widely available original Conn brass serial number list contains inaccuracies in serial numbers earlier than approximately 1920. This revised serial number list is the result of research comparing serial numbers with patent number dates, known historical events and dates on Conn Guarantee Bonds issued with new instruments.
